About

“The fortress is abandoned even of those who should have defended it.”

“In a time of universal deciet, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

About me…well, I get my wit and genetic addiction to freedom from my Irish blood, and my charm, passion, and devestating good looks from my Boricua heritage.

As for this blog…no other country is closer to God’s heart, or has been soaked by the blood of more brave men, than Ireland. Seven hundred years was the Emerald Isle enslaved under the jackboot of the British.  Seven hundred years did her sons give their lives for God and freedom.  But their memory lives on in song and legend as an example to me and to all, that there are some things worth dying for.   And so the British declared Martial Law, and the fighting men and innocent alike met the fate that surely awaits us if our own government is left unchecked.  History never fails to repeat, and those who are ignorant of the past are the ones who will suffer the consequences.

My Grandfather’s family was never dragged out of thier house and executed.  I will give one example of why.  My great grand uncle was called Big John. In Tipperary, when England was illegally occupying Ireland, the English soldiers came to take away his farm, evict his wife, and take him and his sons to prison simply because they were Irish and Catholic.  So Big John killed the soldiers, and the British sent dozens more to shoot them all on the spot.  When his wife saw them coming, she dug graves in the sod for Big John and their sons, told the men to lie in them, then rolled the thick sod back over them.  The soldiers marched right over them, stayed at the farm, and marched back over the hidden men the next day.   My concept of “live free or die” does not come from the USA or Americanisim.  It comes from stories told by my mother and grandfather and from my Irish roots.

As my sister wrote on her page, “Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once”.  What do you do when faced with evil, with slavery, with death?  Do you cry for mercy?  No.  That is the cry of beggars and slaves.  You battle for righteousness, because the worst they can do is send you to the God that created you.  In the end, the blood of heroes waters the seeds of defiance and courage planted in the hearts of true men, seeds that will bear the fruits of victory.
